Welcome to our neighborhood!

On behalf of the Lake Serene Board of Directors, welcome to Lake Serene website!  The properties in the Lake Serene area are among the most preferred real estate investment in South Mississippi today and is one of the more desirable places to live, being convenient to the city of Hattiesburg. Our water recreational facilities made up of six lakes in total have some of the best premier fishing in the state stocked full of bass, bream, white perch, and catfish. We also have a main lake over 250 acres that allows skiing, tubing, and jet skiing to list just some of the water sports. Other recreation include swimming, walking/jogging, kayaking, and general enjoyment of the huge beach areas and other common properties such as the playground and volleyball area.   The entrances, lakes, dams, spillways, boat ramps, swimming area, piers, pavilion area, clubhouse, and certain other common properties belong to the Lake Serene Property Owners Association, a non-profit corporation.   These areas and facilities, as well as the street lights, are maintained by the Property Owners Association dues as well as your rights of participation.  The streets in the Lake Serene area belong to and are maintained by Lamar County with revenue from property taxes.

Our lake community is unique in that the development of the subdivision began in the late 1960’s.  There are homes that were built in the early 70’s all the way up to the present day.  It is a beautiful community filled with beautiful people from all walks of life.

Several times a year, our neighborhood comes together for special events such as the Annual Crawfish Boil, Fourth of July activities and fireworks, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookies with Santa, and many others that encourage community and fellowship among the members of Lake Serene POA.
